Mill Creek MetroParks covers more than 4,400 acres of continuous park land running through Youngstown, Boardman, and Canfield — one of the largest urban parks in the United States and the centerpiece of the Mahoning Valley's outdoor scene. The park's flagship attraction is Fellows Riverside Gardens (123 McKinley Ave, Youngstown, OH 44509), a formal garden with formal rose collections, butterfly gardens, and a visitors center that draws weddings, school groups, and weekend family outings year-round. Lake Newport and Lake Glacier offer fishing and trail access; Lanterman's Mill (980 Canfield Road, Youngstown, OH 44511) dates to the 1840s and sits inside a wooded gorge that is one of the most photographed spots in Mahoning County.
Bus groups drop at the parking areas near each destination within the park. Check the Mill Creek MetroParks site for current programming, trail conditions, and group visit guidelines.
